A 10,500-square-foot ski-in/ski-out residence at the Yellowstone Club — where, as Big Sky Journal put it, structural meets sublime.
Roaming Bear is a 10,500-square-foot ski-in/ski-out residence at the Yellowstone Club — a home that wears its engineering as architecture. Heavy timber and exposed steel do real structural work while shaping the spaces, and the result is a home that feels both grounded and soaring.
Nicholas Modroo led the project as designer and project manager from initial concept through construction administration, coordinating a deep bench of consultants and one of the region's finest builders to keep a complex, slope-side build on vision.
Featured in Big Sky Journal, the home is a study in how structure, when handled with care, becomes the most expressive part of the design.
